Inspired by a TV broadcasting of Olympic events, amateur figure skater Yuki decides to practice to become a world champion in her sport.
Twinkle Toes Skating is a tile matching puzzle game. The main screen is the ice rink, with a grid of tiles superimposed over it. The tiles are figure skating moves, and the player must align three or more matching ones on the skater path by dragging the columns and rows of the grid with the mouse. Special tiles slow down Yuki, and a wild card tile can match any group.
Yuki starts to move as soon as the player begins to drag tiles, and if she bumps in a group of less than three matching tiles or cracked ice, she slips and falls and the level has to be replayed. The number of tiles required to finish the level is listed at the left side of the screen, while a meter at the bottom shows how many tiles remain before reaching the end.
In Free Skate mode, there are no obligatory tiles to be matched, and the goal is achieve the highest score possible.
